The 2025 Los Angeles Conscious Life Expo kicked off today, but two of its biggest recent stars—Del Bigtree and Mikki Willis—were nowhere to be found. Their absence isn’t a retreat. They’re busy elsewhere, likely helping their longtime ally, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secure his position as Secretary of Health and Human Services under the new Trump administration.
Kennedy, a fervent anti-vaccine activist who disregards scientific consensus, has spent years pushing medical disinformation under the guise of ‘health freedom.’ Now, thanks to Trump, he’s poised to wield real power over public health policy.
For decades, the Expo leaned into an earth-conscious, left-leaning New Age ethos—vegetarianism, progressive politics, and spiritual wellness. It attracted figures like Marianne Williamson, Dennis Kucinich, and John Trudell, and even its conspiracy theories had a leftist slant—civil rights icon Dick Gregory and former Senator Mike Gravel openly questioned the official 9/11 narrative. But the pandemic changed everything.
Enter the Rabbit Hole.
In 2023, the Conscious Life Expo added a dedicated floor at the Hilton, ominously dubbed "The Rabbit Hole," for its most conspiratorial panels. A life-size Alice in Wonderland white rabbit greeted attendees at the escalator, warning that things were about to get strange. This wasn’t just a gimmick—it was a full embrace of far-right Conspirituality and anti-government paranoia.
Among the biggest draws? Del Bigtree, television producer turned anti-vaccine crusader. His film Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe remains one of the most influential pieces of anti-vaccine propaganda. In 2023, people paid $60 a ticket to hear him speak. It was a sellout event. Now, Bigtree isn’t just an Expo star—he was Kennedy’s 2024 campaign spokesman.
Then there’s Mikki Willis, director of the Plandemic series, who has claimed past involvement in video production for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign and later for Tulsi Gabbard. He went on to produce some of the most damaging COVID-19 disinformation. His first film, Plandemic: The Hidden Agenda Behind COVID-19, went viral, flooding social media with outright lies. In 2023, Plandemic 3: The Great Awakening got a grand finale premiere at the Expo. Demand was so high that organizers extended the convention by an extra day just to accommodate panels on the film.
Willis plays the role of revolutionary prophet, warning: "For decades, scholars and survivors of totalitarianism have been warning us that America is under attack from within. We didn’t listen. Now we are here." He claims The Great Awakening reveals "how the COVID industrial complex was used to advance a century-old agenda to weaken & overtake America."
Kennedy, of course, has been one of Willis’s biggest cheerleaders. He called Willis "the Paul Revere of the rebellion against the burgeoning totalitarianism of the Biosecurity State," celebrating his role in spreading what he calls “critical thinking” but what the rest of the world calls baseless paranoia. In 2024, Willis repaid the favor by producing Kennedy’s campaign video.
The Expo’s transformation mirrors the broader shift in New Age spirituality. What was once an eclectic mix of progressive activism and holistic health has metastasized into a pipeline for far-right conspiratorial thinking. Figures like Bigtree and Willis aren’t just drawing crowds—they’re shaping political narratives and steering them straight into the highest levels of government.
Welcome to the new New Age, where medical disinformation is a career path, Conspirituality is a political strategy, and its loudest voices now have a direct line to federal power. And now, thanks to Trump, they aren’t just selling conspiracy theories—they’re shaping public health policy.
You are connecting so many of the dots…. all the false narrative & conspiracy people are advancing, advocating for & endorsing each other’s agendas. And the gullibility of Americans is alarming!!
As someone who has followed new age spirituality for decades, the trend into conspiracy theories during the past decade was really disturbing. Once QAnon people became MAGA followers it was very clear that ego-driven false narratives had spread like cancer into some new age circles. Now, ironically, RFK Jr and his enablers have wrought exactly what they'd warned against to the seat of power in our country. I personally know people who voted for Trump because they bought RFKs lies and disinformation. Can't help but wonder how many of those folks will soon (if they don't yet) realize that they were sold lie upon lie by the conspiracy peddlers.
